|
Washington designated hitter Austin Dean had a 6-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Carolina Riptides, 10-2. Washington pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto got the win. He's now 10-11. Cooper Criswell was tagged with the loss. The defeat makes Carolina 69-62.
With Washington leading 6-2 in the top of the ninth, Dean came up to bat against Carolina pitcher Peter Fairbanks. Dean hit a fastball to left for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Hitmen on top, 10-2.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Carolina manager Rob Hansen. "They smoked us."
