Hitmen Use Late Score to Top Dragons, 3-2
|
The Washington Hitmen and San Francisco Dragons put on quite a show.
Both offenses were relatively subdued at Pac Bell Park. Fortunately for the Washington Hitmen, though, Jake Meyers was able to deliver in the clutch. He belted 2 home runs, to lead his team past the San Francisco Dragons, 3-2. With the win, Washington pushed its record to 68-65.
Washington used the timely hitting of Brice Turang to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Hitmen on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Meyers said after the game.
