Hitmen Earn 9-4 Home Win
|
The Washington Hitmen defeated the Texas Vipers, 9-4, in Federal League action at RFK Stadium. Washington pitcher Luis Garcia had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Garcia, now 10-6. He tossed 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. The Washington winning streak has reached 3 games.
Yandy Diaz tried to get his team back in the game. With Texas trailing 9-0 in the top of the 8th, Diaz hit a grand slam home run. But the Hitmen held on to get the win. "Diaz had a good at-bat," said manager Pete Seto. "We could have used a few more like it."
