Dragons Win 5-2 Nail-Biter Versus Firebirds
|
The San Francisco Dragons clipped the Phoenix Firebirds, 5-2, in 12 innings at Pac Bell Park. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and The United States, native Walker Buehler. Cal Quantrill was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Justin Slaten. The Dragons lead the Federal League Western Division by 2 games.
San Francisco got a knockout punch from Jose Ramirez. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Ramirez said.
