Minutemen Shut Out Demons, 8-0
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Detroit Demons and Boston Minutemen get after it.
Pitcher Hunter Brown was sensational for the Boston Minutemen in his team's 8-0 triumph over the Detroit Demons. Brown earned the win. The winning pitcher was Brown, now 2-0. He tossed 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6.
Anthony Santander had a big grand slam home run for the Minutemen in the bottom of the first inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Joey Wentz and punished it. The result was his 34th home run of the season, which put the Minutemen on top, 5-0.
"The effort wasn't good enough," said losing manager Marc Buffington.
With the win, the Minutemen have a record of 70-62.
