Chang Heroics Not Enough in 6-4 Loss to Carolina
|
Though he had a stellar game, Yu Chang could not prevent his team, the Los Angeles Spirit, from losing, 6-4, to the Carolina Riptides. Chang was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The win went to Dedniel Nunez in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Jay Groome took the loss. With the victory, the Riptides upped their record to 70-63.
Juan Soto, who finished 2nd in the UL in home runs with 44 in 2020, helped out the Carolina cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a solo home run. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks.
Carolina manager Rob Hansen called it "a good, solid win."
