Texas Downed, 4-2, by Hitmen
|
The Washington Hitmen faced a tough opponent in Texas pitcher Yu Darvish, but did just enough to pull out the victory at RFK Stadium by a final score of 4-2. Darvish went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Ian Hamilton got the save, his 30th in 31 chances. Washington has now won 4 in a row.
Washington took a 3-2 lead on Jake Cave's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Cave hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Texas pitcher Joe Mantiply visibly frustrated.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Cave told the Washington News.
