The Denver Bears defeated the Chicago Explorers, 8-4. Third Baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand deserved a large share of the credit. Encarnacion-Strand went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Bears. Brady Singer, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 8-10. By defeating Chicago, the 4th-place Bears improved to 65-71.

Denver needed the clutch hitting of Ryan Jeffers to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bears on top, 8-4. For the game, Jeffers had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
