Lowe Batters Bronx for 5 Hits
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Nathaniel Lowe as he led the charge to a nifty 9-3 win over the Bombers. The Oakland first baseman was pure misery for the Bronx pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Lowe put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Jeremiah Coggins, manager for the Bombers, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Nathaniel Lowe singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Danny Coulombe in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
In his season totals, Lowe has 20 home runs, .285 BA, .354 OBP, 88 RBIs and 61 runs scored. He has played in 131 games.
