Minnesota Beats New York, 6-5
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Minnesota Millers eventually prevailed.
The Minnesota Millers beat the New York Sharks, 6-5. Minnesota pitcher and The United States, native Justin Steele led the way. Jeff Hoffman, credited with the save, is now 7 for 9 in save opportunities.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Zach Neto? The 23-year old shortstop Neto stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Minnesota up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Enjoyed this one," Neto told the Minnesota Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Minnesota leads the Union League Central Division by 4½ games.
