Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Baltimore Wildcats were eager to watch Gerrit Cole square off against Paul Skenes of the visiting Washington Hitmen. In the end, the Hitmen won the game, 6-3, with Paul Skenes leading the way.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jake Meyers? The 29-year old center fielder Meyers stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Washington up, 6-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Skenes.
