The St Louis Sluggers put one in the win column with an opening day 9-0 triumph over the Bronx Bombers. The crowd at Busch Stadium watched Freddy Peralta put on a fine performance.

Harrison Bader had a big 2-run double for the Sluggers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With St Louis leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from Carlos Rodon, who finished 5th in the FL in ERA with 3.30 in 2024, and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sluggers ahead, 3-0.

"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Scott Gessford.
