Fans of the St Louis Sluggers who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a St Louis win over the visiting Cincinnati Stars, 7-5. Freddy Peralta started for the home team against Max Scherzer. Freddy Peralta earned accolades for his performance.

Triston Casas had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the St Louis first baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Sluggers in front, 2-1.

"Winning never gets dull," said Casas.
