Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Philadelphia Phalanx home opener. Logan Gilbert started for the home team against Tarik Skubal for the Carolina Riptides. The Phalanx were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 3-2, Carolina. Logan Gilbert, though, was impressive. The win was credited to Mason Montgomery in relief. His record improves to 1-0. David Robertson took the loss.

Otto Lopez had a direct impact on the outcome. Lopez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Carolina up, 3-2.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Lopez. "And not try to do too much."
