The Washington Hitmen scored a tight, 2-1 win versus the Anaheim Diamonds at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Washington pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto held his own in the contest. Earning his 1st save of the year was Nic Enright. Washington goes to 2-0 with the win.

Washington used the hitting of Masataka Yoshida to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hitmen on top, 2-1. For the game, Yoshida had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Michael Kirk.
