Bandits Get Clutch Win, 4-3
|
Tampa Bay pitcher Pablo Lopez had a large part in his team beating the Minnesota Millers, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Tampa Bay reliever Hunter Harvey picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Cade Smith took the loss. Matt Strahm earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Tampa Bay took a 4-3 lead on Yordan Alvarez's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Alvarez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Minnesota pitcher Cade Smith visibly frustrated.
"I was a little disappointed," said Minnesota manager Pierre Duschesnau. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
At 2-0, the Bandits have played well so far.
