The Toronto Hogs met little resistance from the Carolina Riptides, beating them, 12-3, at IBM Field. Michael Harris II led the way. He was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for Toronto. Foster Griffin, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 5 and walked 2 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The loss drops Carolina to 2-2.

Toronto second baseman Santiago Espinal contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Hogs ahead, 3-0.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Harris II told the Toronto Today. "It's as simple as that."
