Titans Win, Downing Vipers, 5-2

Houston and Texas duked it out and the Titans came out victorious.
The Houston Titans rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Chase Burns to a win, beating the Texas Vipers, 5-2, at Pepsi Dome. The winning pitcher was Burns, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. Earning his 2nd save for Houston was Orion Kerkering.
Houston used a clutch at-bat from Nathan Lukes to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Titans ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"When I throw strikes I'm good, if I don't I'm not very good," said Burns. "So I just have to throw strikes."
Houston, now 4-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
