Sharks 8-7 Winners Over Boston
|
The New York Sharks overcame a pretty good performance by Boston third baseman Matt Chapman, beating the Minutemen, 8-7, at Shark Stadium. Chapman was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was German Marquez. He's now 1-0. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Sharks. The loss makes Boston 2-3.
The Sharks got a big hit from shortstop Tommy Edman. Facing Boston pitcher Hunter Gaddis in the bottom of the fifth, Edman pounded a 3-run home run to right-center. His 1st home run of the season put the Sharks ahead, 8-1.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Edman.
