Washington Upended by Minnesota, 5-2
|
Minnesota and Washington duked it out and the Millers came out victorious.
Minnesota Millers starter Justin Steele turned in a top-notch performance against the Washington Hitmen at RFK Stadium. The result was a win for the Millers, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Steele, now 1-1. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. The save went to Jhoan Duran, his 1st this season.
Minnesota used the hitting of Seiya Suzuki to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Millers on top, 5-1. For the game, Suzuki had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"That was a really good outing by Justin," said Minnesota manager Pierre Duschesnau.
The win puts Minnesota at 2-4.
