In a low-scoring contest between the Phoenix Firebirds and the Cincinnati Stars, 30-year old left-handed pitcher Ranger Suarez proved to be the difference. The Phoenix left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-0 Firebirds win. Edwin Diaz recorded his 2nd save for Phoenix. The loss drops Cincinnati to 5-1.

Cincinnati had a runner on 1st in the top of the eighth. With one out, Luis Guillorme stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he struck out. The score remained 2-0, Phoenix. The Stars never could mount a comeback.
