Explorers Absorb 7-6 Home Loss
The Portland Jaguars beat the Chicago Explorers, 7-6, in part because of center fielder Julio Rodriguez. He went 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win was credited to 27-year old right-handed pitcher Kyle Leahy in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Grayson Rodriguez took the loss. Calvin Faucher picked up the save, his 3rd.

Portland grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Rodriguez hit a 3-run home run off Grayson Rodriguez. His 2nd home run of the season put the Jaguars out in front, 6-3.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Rodriguez.

Chicago now has a record of 3-4.
