In a low-scoring contest, San Diego pitcher Tatsuya Imai was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. San Diego reliever Garrett Cleavinger picked up the win to move to 1-0. Joey Cantillo suffered the loss. Jordan Leasure picked up his 1st save of the season.

San Diego used the timely hitting of Billy Cook to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Snakeyes on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Texas manager Pete Seto.

The win gives San Diego a record of 4-3.
