Explorers 9-4 Winners Over Portland
The home crowd had a good time watching the Portland Jaguars and Chicago Explorers get after it.

The Chicago Explorers finished off the Portland Jaguars, 9-4. Much of the credit belonged to designated hitter J.D. Martinez. Martinez was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for the Explorers. The loss drops the Jaguars to 3-5.

Oswald Peraza had a big 2-run triple for the Explorers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chicago leading 5-3 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Kyle Leahy and swatted a triple to left. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Explorers ahead, 7-3.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Peraza said. "We did a good job of that today."
