Vipers Stumble, Fall to Snakeyes, 8-3
|
The San Diego Snakeyes knocked off the Texas Vipers, 8-3, in Federal League action at Pepsi Dome. San Diego pitcher and The United States, native A.J. Blubaugh had an outstanding performance. Blubaugh, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. The Snakeyes raised their record to 5-3.
San Diego used the hitting of Harry Ford to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Snakeyes on top, 2-0. For the game, Ford had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Blubaugh.
