Conditions were not ideal but Pittsburgh and St Louis were able to put their game in the books.

Pittsburgh Ironmen starter Miles Mikolas pitched his team past the St Louis Sluggers, 2-1. Pittsburgh reliever Yariel Rodriguez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Sam Hentges was saddled with the loss.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Ironmen had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when third baseman Miguel Vargas hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Jameson Taillon and made the score 1-0, Ironmen. Vargas was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.

Mikolas called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

The win puts Pittsburgh at 4-4.
