D.J. LeMahieu led Boston to a win over Washington. The final score was 8-7. LeMahieu scored 2 times, going 3 for 4. He also knocked in 2 runs batted in. Picking up his 1st save was fireballing right-hander Ben Joyce.

Had Jasson Dominguez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Dominguez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Minutemen.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Dominguez.

The defeat makes Washington 4-5.
