Hogs 7-3 Winners Versus Boston
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Boston Minutemen and Toronto Hogs get after it.
Boston right fielder Trevor Larnach had a good game, even if his team did not. The Minutemen dropped a 7-3 decision to Toronto at Sony Park. Larnach went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was fireballing right-hander Dustin May. He tossed 99 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits.
Tyler Stephenson had a big run-scoring double for the Hogs in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Toronto leading 4-3 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from fireballing right-hander Ben Joyce and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hogs ahead, 5-3.
Afterward, Boston manager Tony Byrne said: "We've hit a rough patch."
Toronto is off to a hot start at 7-3.
