Ironmen Roll to 8-3 Win Over Riptides
|
Pittsburgh parlayed a decent outing from starter Andrew Abbott into a solid win over the Carolina Riptides. The final score was 8-3. Carolina is 6-4 after the defeat.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for Pittsburgh. With the bases loaded and the Ironmen leading 4-3, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
"Andrew throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Pittsburgh manager Ryan Morneau.
