Tampa Bay Dealt 4-2 Defeat
|
Behind an impressive start by Tarik Skubal, Carolina beat Tampa Bay, 4-2. Gabe Speier closed it out for Carolina, earning his 1st save. The Riptides raised their record to 7-4.
The Riptides got a big at-bat from third baseman Ryan McMahon. For the game, McMahon went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Carolina a 2-1 lead.
Skubal called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
