Titans Topple Roses, 7-5, as Ortiz Shines
The Houston Titans defeated the Oakland Roses, 7-5. Doing his part was shortstop Joey Ortiz, who was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Triston McKenzie closed it out for Houston, earning his 2nd save. The Roses, now 3-9, continue their sluggish start.

With Houston leading 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Ortiz came up to bat against Oakland pitcher Steve Matz. Ortiz hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Titans on top, 6-2.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Ortiz told the Houston News.
