The Oakland Roses picked up a win at Petco Park, topping the San Diego Snakeyes, 3-0. On the mound for Oakland was left-hander Steve Matz. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Roses, now 10-2, have been on fire in the early going.

Oakland used a clutch at-bat from Max Muncy to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Roses ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Muncy called the win "a team effort."
