Riptides Drop Contest, 9-2, to Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Bandits pinned a convincing loss on the Carolina Riptides, 9-2, at IBM Field. Ozzie Albies was a main factor in the win. He went 2-3 with a triple and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Tampa Bay. Pablo Lopez was the winner. He's now 2-0. The loser was two-time All-Star Dylan Cease. Tampa Bay, now 8-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Tampa Bay used a clutch at-bat from Brendan Donovan to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Bandits ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"They just got us," said Carolina manager Rob Hansen, "and that's all I can say."
