Stars 8-3 Winners Over Phoenix
|
Cincinnati shortstop Marcus Betts helped his team beat the Phoenix Firebirds, 8-3. Betts, who finished 5th in the UL in stolen bases with 28 in 2018, went 2 for 5 for the Stars. Giovanny Gallegos came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The Firebirds drop to 6-7 and continue their mediocre start to the 2025 season.
Cincinnati used the clutch hitting of Heliot Ramos to snag the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stars ahead, 7-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
Ramos called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
