Diamonds Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Anaheim Diamonds and Baltimore Wildcats.
Anaheim starter Tyler Mahle pitched well against the Baltimore Wildcats at Toyota Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Baltimore now is 7-7.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ildemaro Vargas? The 33-year old second baseman Vargas stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Anaheim up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
Anaheim manager Michael Kirk commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
