The Seattle Sting welcomed the Bronx Bombers to an night game at Boeing Field.
The Seattle Sting defeated the Bronx Bombers by the score of 8-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Sam Hilliard. Hilliard slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Sting on the day. Trevor Megill earned the save for Seattle, his 4th.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Hilliard delivered big-time for Seattle, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Michael Grove. The game-changing hit put the Sting on top, 5-4.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Sting manager Jesus Cardiel. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
Bronx falls to 6-8.
