Diamonds Tuck Away 4-1 Win Over Philadelphia
|
Anaheim and Philadelphia duked it out and the Diamonds came out victorious.
Anaheim turned a good performance from starting pitcher Cole Ragans into a 4-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Phalanx at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Ragans got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Bryan Abreu was credited with the save for Anaheim, his 2nd of the season.
Anaheim left fielder Sean Bouchard contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 9th hit of the season and put the Diamonds ahead, 2-0.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Anaheim manager Michael Kirk.
Anaheim, now 2-13, is off to a slow start.
