The Portland Jaguars weathered a fine game by Detroit third baseman Eugenio Suarez to upend the Demons, 9-6, at Detroit Park. Suarez went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Jordan Romano closed the game out for Portland, earning his 1st save. The Demons drop to 7-8 and continue their mediocre start to the 2026 season.

Portland needed the clutch hitting of Lane Thomas to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Jaguars on top, 9-6. For the game, Thomas had 1 home run and 1 single in 2 at-bats.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Thomas.
