Firebirds Win by Slim Margin, 13-12
Due in part to second baseman Matt McLain, the Phoenix Firebirds chopped down the Cincinnati Stars, 13-12, in 11 innings. McLain went 4-7 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. The Stars, now 5-10, continue their inauspicious start.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With no one out, McLain hit a slider from Tyler Ferguson for a run-scoring single. The Firebirds, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Exciting game to play in," said McLain. "Getting the win makes it even better."
