Ohtani Socks 2 Home Runs in 10-5 San Francisco Win
|
The San Francisco Dragons topped the Washington Hitmen, 10-5, in Federal League action at Pac Bell Park. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco designated hitter and Iwate, Japan, native Shohei Ohtani. Brandon Walter snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. The win brings the Dragons to 10-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Had Jose Ramirez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Ramirez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Dragons.
"We came out aggressive," said Dragons manager Joe Turnage. "We came out swinging the bats."
