Minutemen Fall to Explorers, 8-1
|
Fenway Park was the site for Union League action featuring the Boston Minutemen and Chicago Explorers.
Andre Pallante pitched a gem to lead Chicago to victory over the Boston Minutemen, 8-1. The winning pitcher was Pallante, now 2-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Will D. Smith? The Chicago first baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Explorers on top, 2-1. For the game, Smith had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Said losing manager Tony Byrne: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
The Minutemen fall to 7-9 and continue their uneven start to the 2026 season.
