Anaheim Absorbs 8-4 Loss to San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Dragons withstood an impressive performance by Anaheim shortstop Chris Taylor to defeat the Diamonds, 8-4, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Taylor was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. San Francisco pitcher Cal Quantrill got the win. He's now 1-0. David Bednar was tagged with the loss. The defeat makes Anaheim 8-9.
San Francisco used a clutch at-bat from Kyle Schwarber to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dragons ahead, 6-4. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Dragons manager Joe Turnage.
