Texas Picks Up Another L
|
The Phoenix Firebirds dealt the Texas Vipers a 5-2 loss at Pepsi Dome. Sean Murphy, who finished 5th in the FL in slugging percentage with .568 in 2024, went 2-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Edwin Diaz picked up his 5th save of the season. The win puts Phoenix at 9-8.
Trent Grisham, who finished 5th in the UL in stolen bases with 31 in 2021, helped out the Phoenix cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a walk.
Phoenix manager Pat McGoldrick called it "a darn good win."
