Baltimore Beaten, 5-3, by Philadelphia
|
The Philadelphia Phalanx picked up a win at Citizens Bank Park, knocking off the Baltimore Wildcats, 5-3, in 11 innings. Starting pitcher Logan Webb played a key role in the triumph. Baltimore drops to 7-11.
The decisive blow was delivered by Munetaka Murakami in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 2-run home run off 35-year old right-handed pitcher Paul Sewald to win the game for Philadelphia. The home crowd went nuts.
Philadelphia manager Stephen Esterhazy was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
