Explorers Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Chicago turned a fine outing from starter Cade Horton into a victory over the Boston Minutemen at Fenway Park. The final score was 3-2 in 13 innings. Tyler Anderson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Beau Brieske was tagged with the loss. Shawn Armstrong closed the door for Chicago, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Chicago needed the clutch hitting of Ceddanne Rafaela to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Explorers on top, 3-2. For the game, Rafaela had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"Cade did what Cade does," said Chicago manager Rock Carpenter.
Chicago goes to 12-6 with the win.
