Sluggers Deal Phalanx 9-7 Defeat
St Louis and Philadelphia duked it out and the Sluggers came out victorious.

Behind a solid performance from first baseman Triston Casas, the St Louis Sluggers defeated the Philadelphia Phalanx, 9-7. Casas was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Sluggers. Bobby Miller got the win, improving to 3-0. He held the Phalanx to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2.

St Louis won the game in part because of Austin Hays. The right fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sluggers ahead, 4-3. For the game, Hays had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Casas.

The Phalanx fall to 8-11 and continue their lackluster start to the 2025 season.
