Arcia Lit, Bombers Win, 8-7
|
The Bronx Bombers did just enough to sneak past the Cincinnati Stars, 8-7, at Great American Ball Park. Bronx shortstop Orlando Arcia, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner in relief was Edward Cabrera. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. Caleb Ferguson recorded his 5th save for Bronx.
With Bronx trailing 7-4 in the top of the ninth, Arcia hit a fastball from Tyler Ferguson for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Bombers ahead, 8-7.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Arcia, "and then get after it again."
The Stars, now 7-12, continue their poor start.
