The Texas Vipers defeated the Philadelphia Phalanx, 9-1, in Union League action at Citizens Bank Park. Texas pitcher Reese Olson had a standout performance. Nico Hoerner had a big solo home run for the Vipers in the top of the third inning. With Texas leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a cutter from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Zach Eflin and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Vipers on top, 2-0.
