PoorBoys Prevail, 6-4, Over Seattle
|
Montreal registered a win at Big Donut Stadium by beating the Seattle Sting, 6-4. Pitcher Patrick Corbin was one reason why the PoorBoys triumphed. Felix Bautista earned the save for Montreal, his 3rd of the year. Despite the win, Montreal, now 5-15, is off to a terrible start.
Mickey Moniak had a big grand slam home run for the PoorBoys in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Montreal leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from Ryne Nelson, who finished 5th in the UL in ERA with 3.64 last year, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the PoorBoys on top, 6-0.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Montreal manager Garrett Woolsey.
