Stott Lifts Stars to 8-4 Triumph
|
The Cincinnati Stars defeated the San Diego Snakeyes, 8-4, at Petco Park. Leading the charge for Cincinnati was shortstop Bryson Stott. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Sean Manaea picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 3 in 5.2 innings. At 14-6, the Stars have played well so far.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Manuel Margot? The Cincinnati left fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put the Stars on top, 3-2. For the game, Margot had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
