Firebirds fans were treated to an exciting walk-off win.
Phoenix parlayed a decent outing from starter Kyle Freeland into a solid win over the Boston Minutemen. The final score was 5-4. Phoenix reliever Dietrich Enns snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jose Alvarado shouldered the loss.
Phoenix got a knockout punch from Zack Gelof. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This joint was rocking," said Gelof.
The loss drops Boston to 8-12.
